The product manager role model
Our PM manager role model is the structural basis for PM manager training and development. In order to fully fulfil the function of a PM leader, a total of six key roles must be taken on. In our PM1 Leader Camp, we first work our way through the individual roles and the associated responsibilities and tasks. In the next step, we introduce concrete methods and tools to master these tasks. You will then immediately reflect on their application, alone, with peers and in plenary, and share valuable experiences. At the end, you will bring all the results into an initial roadmap for optimising your PM organisation and further developing your own role. This means that every PM manager immediately takes concrete work results back into their practice.

The goal: Establish high-performance product management as a PM leader
The Head of Product Management is a key position in which you not only bear extensive responsibility for your PM team, but also have a significant influence on the company’s success through the products and product lines. Strategic foresight, skilful employee management and targeted communication across different hierarchies are elementary factors for your success.
The aim of the PM1 Leader Camp is to strengthen and develop you in your role so that you can act as a shaper of high-performance product management in your company. In fact, PM leaders are often inadequately prepared for their demanding role. Although experience as a product manager and attending a management seminar is necessary, it is by no means sufficient. This is exactly where the PM1 Leader Camp comes in to provide you with everything you need to build and lead an effective product management organisation in a B2B and industrial environment.
Target group: For prospective and experienced heads of product management and managing directors
The training is designed for aspiring and experienced product management leaders who want to develop their leadership potential and take their product management career to the next level:
- For prospective heads of product management to prepare for their new role, or PM heads with initial practical experience
- For experienced heads of product management who want to increase their efficiency or are facing major challenges with their PM organisation.
In addition, managing directors or business unit managers who want to introduce or optimise product management can obtain the necessary structural knowledge and a product management ‘consulting kit’ at the Leader Camp.
Our online trainings:
interactive und productive
Our online training courses follow the outcome-based training approach. The structure and process are based on specific types of results that are developed in the respective training course. Each participant works interactively on their own panorama online whiteboard, which brings together all the content. And after the training, you can immediately continue working interactively with your colleagues across disciplines and countries.
This creates a clear overview and enables valuable work results. The results of the training are put into a presentable form that can later be used for communication with stakeholders in the company. This results in high practical relevance and transfer. The workshop offers a balanced mix of method input and direct application.

What our participants say about the PM1 Leader Camp
PM1 Expertise | Product Management Management
Basis for the successful management of your product management organisation
A contribution by Thomas Bauch, Managing Director PM1
PM managers are often inadequately prepared for their demanding role. Although experience as a product manager and attending a management seminar is necessary, it is by no means sufficient. In fact, a PM manager must master a wide variety of strategic, process-related and leadership-related topics in order to establish and expand effective product management. At the same time, the role of PM manager is probably one of the most interesting jobs of all.
