The product management system

The PM1 product management system

Level 1 –
Product management Operating elements

The first level contains the actual product management operational elements. The organisational structure, the process organisation, objectives & KPIs and methods & tools. Every well-functioning product management organisation needs these four elements. Our operating system provides the necessary blueprints and configuration parameters to put together the right concept for your company.

The PM1 role model and the PM1 process navigator familiar from our poster, for example, describe the ideal structure and process organisation for product management. They follow the manifesto that the product manager is the entrepreneur for the product and that strategic product planning and control over the entire product life cycle must be the core process in product management.

Level 2 –
Audit and benchmarking model

The second level consists of the PM1 audit and benchmarking model for fact-based site analyses. Here you will find processes and tools to quickly and systematically scrutinise your current situation and product management organisation and identify potential for optimisation. The benchmarking model provides valuable cross-company benchmarks for well-founded decisions.

Level 3 – Qualification, implementation and change management

The third level offers the necessary measures for the introduction or further development of your PM operating system. This includes a comprehensive training and certificate programme for prospective and experienced product managers and targeted specialist coaching programmes for product managers and heads of product management. Our consulting programme for the design, implementation and accompanying change management is based on our systematic PM1 implementation process.
