The Strategic Product Portfolio Management training programme comprises 3 x 0.6 days of live online training.

Onboarding 

With onboarding, you and all the other participants will enter the training programme prepared and with a homogeneous basic knowledge and reference image for effective product management.

Session 1 Product portfolio management introduction and
process

In the first step, you will learn about the benefits of PPM, the PPM processes and the procedure for introducing PPM in your organisation. The session includes, among other things:

  • Portfolio delimitation
  • Portfolio analysis
  • Phase-in process
  • Target portfolio determination
  • Phase-out process
  • Cancellation management

Based on the methods learnt, we will jointly derive the first concrete recommendations for action for your company.

Session 2 Product portfolio management toolbox (Part 1)

In this session you will discover the most important PPM tools and apply them directly:

  • Innovation funnel
  • Three-horizon model
  • Product structure analysis
  • 9-field matrix

Session 3 Product management toolbox (Part 2)
and tool linking

In the third training session, you will get to know and use further PPM tools:

  • Competitive portfolio analysis
  • Project value contribution index
  • Multifactorial ABC analysis
  • Lock-in effect, complexity management

Finally, you will learn how to link the PPM tools across the individual phases of the PPM process in a meaningful way to maximise strategic stringency.

Our online training courses follow the outcome-based training approach. The structure and process are based on specific types of results that are developed in the respective training course. Each participant works interactively on their own Panorama online whiteboard, which summarises all the content. And after the training, you can immediately continue working interactively with your colleagues across disciplines and countries.

This creates a clear overview and enables valuable work results.
